Hockey Scholarships in the Summer

This weekend I am heading down to Boston to coach in a huge girls’ hockey
tournament.  There will be teams from all over North America participating
and the rinks will be full of college hockey coaches & scouts.

While a summer hockey tournament isn’t necessarily a place where they
hand-out scholarships, it may be an opportunity to stand out and get noticed.
A coach that sees something special in you at a summer tournament will
definitely follow-up and watch you again at tournaments with your club team
during the season.  Your performance at the in-season tournaments carries
more weight because you’re more likely to be playing against a more even
level of competition which makes it easier for a coach to see how you stack
up against your teammates and opponents.

So while you probably won’t receive the scholarship of your dreams this summer,
you should definitely be doing the work to make sure you are ready to take advantage
of a great opportunity when it comes along.

The summer is a great time to start doing your homework on the college hockey process.

I know that the word “homework” isn’t too popular in July, but hear me out.

If you want to play college hockey, you need to educate yourself on the process.

There are over 115+ schools in North America that have varsity women’s hockey
programs. And while it’s great that there are so many options available to you
in Canada and the United States, 115+ schools is a lot of information to sort through.

Not only do you have to learn more about the hockey program, you need to
figure out which schools have the academic programs you’re interested in.
Then you need to figure out where they’re located and whether you want to
move away from home or stay close to your family.  And then you have to
consider the costs associated with attending the school.  And the only way
to get that information is to dig through the websites of each school – which
takes a lot of time.

And then…

… You actually have to start the process of getting noticed.  You may be lucky
enough to be actively recruited by schools one day, but every single player
needs to take the time to start the process on their own.  So beyond looking
at the websites and trying to figure out which school is a good fit, you need
to start to reach out to coaches of programs you’re interested in.

This is where a lot of players get stuck.

If the thought of sending an email to a college coach trying to express
your interest in their program freaks you out a bit, you’re not alone.
It’s not an easy thing to do.  But that’s really where the process starts
for the majority of players.

Getting noticed and recruited is a two-way street. You can’t just sit around
at home and wait for the magical scholarship fairy to come and give you a
full-ride to the school of your dreams.  It doesn’t work that way.  You need to
put in the work. And the summer is the perfect time to start.

Because once the season and school start up, things will get hectic,
and the thought of getting the ball rolling on this might freak you out.

The whole recruiting process can get very complicated & confusing…

… Unless you have a STEP-BY-STEP plan to follow.

That’s why I created the Total Female Hockey SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT

I’ve spent the last 5 years getting the “insider information” directly from the
college hockey scouts and coaches. I’ve done all the research about the
entire process for you, and mapped out your plan of attack step-by-step.

I’ve made it as SIMPLE for you as possible.

There is no “fluff” or “filler” here. I have only included the critical information
you must know if you want to play at the college level. I’m not going to waste
your time with things you don’t need. This isn’t a generic guide to playing sports
in college…

…this is ONLY for players who want to play women’s college hockey. Period.

You’re still going to have to do the work.

But all you’ll really need to do is follow the plan,
instead of having to figure it all out on your own.

Plan To Work and Work The Plan.

Your friend and coach,

Kim

PS – Don’t wait until September to start taking steps towards
your college hockey dreams.
